In the beginning of 2000 we opened our first restaurant in Stockholm. Ultimat is our fifth.
Since the start we have been trying to push the limits in terms of how authentic Bengali food can get. This time we have focus on food served during feasts.
Here we offer dishes we ate at weddings and celebrations during our childhood in Bangladesh. We prepare them in the exact same way as at home. Most important is to not use spice powders. We make everything from the base, just like our mom did.
When you grind cumin, coriander and ginger by hand scents and tastes are released that instantly recreates the party atmosphere that something’s spreads around our childhood neighborhoods in Dhaka.
Our ingredients are ecological, Krav-certified or locally produced as much as possible. Our wines are Fairtrade and/or ecological and our drinks do not contain any additives nor sugar.
Ultimat is our way of saying: this is our culture, this is our food.
You won’t find it at any other restaurant.
Two breads filled with chopped peppers, mushrooms, fresh mint, coriander and onions. Served with raita and mango chutney.
